Towards Les Bauges, Haute Savoie
I’ve got a couple of Tour de France-related photos for you this week. Ok I’m a day behind but yesterday’s route passed through the mountains in this picture, and today they finished in the place this was taken from. Not often I can claim any kind of topical link to my ramblings, so I thought I’d take the opportunity!
A few years back my partner spent some time in Annecy teaching English for her French degree, so I leapt at the chance to spend a but of time visiting. You’ll find many more of my pictures from this period in my gallery -the haute savoie region has such a lot to offer the walker/mountaineer/photographer. We climbed & sight-saw around many of the hills that fringe Lake Annecy and experienced some excellent conditions, including a cloud inversion whilst climbing La Tournette.
Le Semnoz was a little more easy access (you can drive most of the way to the top!), but the views were no less spectacular, and when the sun began to set…
Anyway, tomorrow I’ll post the other photo from Le Semnoz, so more on this then.
A panoramic, I suggest you buy at 12″x5″ or 20″x8″.
